King James

I've been looking forward to the March GQ arriving since All Star weekend when LeBron hosted a GQ party to promote it (This is his third cover since I started reading US GQ, which is more than anyone). It looks pretty good with a 24 page feature on NBA style, Chris Hardwick from Nerdist with some tips on being a workaholic, and an article about peoples whos actual job is to find cute animal videos. Check it out at places that sell magazines off of America.

How 'bout them Jags!

With my NFL and Jaguars renaissance continuing I thought I'd rep the Jags with a new hat. I got this melton wool New Era from footballfanatics.com as they do some pretty reasonable shipping to the UK (although I did have to deal with UPS who were terrible). I'm a sucker for marled grey, and the embroidered logos look awesome (I went with the old logo of course). I also grabbed a discounted sale shirt as well. Now I'm all set for when Jacksonville come to Wembley later in the year.

Well, I know just what to do with you...

I was adventuring in Greenwich last weekend, checking out the Astronomy Photographer of the Year exhibition and pretending I was in Thor 2, and I found a new store. Meet Bernard stock a bunch of good stuff, Carhartt, Stussy and Filson. And while I'd loved to have come away with a Filson bag, in the end I picked up this Stussy varsity scarf, a bargain at £20 down from £60. Should keep me good and warm for whats left of winter, plus its looks like I'm in Gryffindor!     www.meetbernard.com

I'ma gonna win...

I was able to catch Bless the Fall when they toured recently and picked up this awesome blue shell tee. Anyone who's played some Mario Kart knows the moment of panic when you're leading a race and there's a blue shell coming for you!

I don't pop molly, I rock..

After getting my eyes tested last month I needed to replace my old Gucci pair for everyday wear. I went with another pair by Tom Ford, they're actually the same style as my other Tom Fords (TF5084), this time in the 'Havana' tortoise shell colour. The brown is a bit softer and better for everyday, and the black/yellows are more striking for evenings/going out.

The Legendary Roots Crew

When I was in LA last year I got really into Root Beer. When I got back I found the only place that stocked it here was Morrisons who have Francis Hartridge's, which is pretty good. Recently I discovered that Cyber Candy stocks a whole bunch of different brands so I'm definitely going to be checking them out.

I went with Fitz's to start with (I think because I love the font), and its really good. Its sweeter than the Hartridge's and more like the one I had at Cole's bar in LA that started it all.

Look for the Star!

I've been a Jacksonville Jaguars fan since I needed to pick a team to play with on NFL Quarter Back Club '99 on the N64. However over the last couple of years I hadn't really followed the NFL much, too much basketball to watch. But this season I made a real effort to get back into it, and even though the Jaguars are pretty terrible its been really fun.

This of course got me hankering for a jersey (I'd sold my old Byron Leftwich jersey a few years back). Unfortunately the new Jaguars uniform and logo are awful, so I started looking for a vintage shirt. I found this 1998 Mark Brunell Starter jersey on ebay for the bargain price of $20 shipped from the states. As you can see from the pictures its in perfect condition, the print shows no sign of wear at all (I'm not sure its ever been worn), and of course it has the awesome old school Starter logo on the sleeve. Its a youth large size, so it actually fits like a shirt, and not like a tent like the mens sizes. Now if only the Jaguars could get good.
