Lifes a beach

I'm off on holiday in a week and a half, and for the first time in forever I'm going to be heading to the beach. Having not swum for at least three or four years I needed to pick up some new swimming trunks and a quick visit to H&M sorted me out. I wanted something mid thigh as I think everyone can agree that unless your surfing, huge board shorts look pretty ridiculous. I was looking for a Tom Ford-esq print but I though these were appropriately bright for the beach. Now I just have to hope for some good weather.

More Funny People.

Its time for GQ's comedy issue this month, with Louis C.K on the cover. At first glance there's not an awful lot that grabs me, although I do like there '30 Under $50' feature which showcases a lot of high-street product that's perfect for budget ballers like me. Also nice to see John Oliver representing for the UK. I go on holiday in a couple of weeks so I'm gonna save it for reading on the plane.

"I don't fear Tubbs and Crockett"

I picked up these flamingo embroidered shorts from Gap yesterday from their new summer season product. Part of the 'Miami Pop' collection they're a flat front short with a classic preppy all over embroidery. This gives it more than a slight hint of classic Ralph Lauren (see below), and the bright pink captures the Miami vibe (or Vice City?). It also reminds me of the flamingo logos BBC used on past collections. I'll probably wear them with a simple stripe shirt or a plain linen as you don't need to add too much detail on top of the pattern. You can get them from Gap online here.
